Interfaith Dialogue in Honolulu, Hawaii
People in Hawaii are culturally, ethnically, and religiously diversified. We offer an inter-religious setting to attempt to promote interfaith dialogue and cooperation among followers of various faith traditions of the world.
Peace Organization
Our commitment is to continue to help create one's inner peace in our community, which leads to peace throughout the world.
Non-Profit Entity
We are a Honolulu's non-profit, non-governmental organization which has been granted the IRS tax exemption status of 501(c)(3).
In 2016, we have received a letter from President Barack Obama. That was his reply to our "Thank You" note for expressing our appreciation for his visit to Hiroshima Peace Memorial as the first sitting US President.
Prior to that event, HCRP coordinated the "President Obama's Peace Prayer Project" to request his visit to Hiroshima & Nagasaki by sending over 2,500 petitions to the White House in 2009.
In 2014, we also organized the "A-bombs Exhibit for Peace ~ Face the Past to Heal the Present ~" for 9 days. 35 co-sponsors provided HCRP with their support throughout our 2 years of preparation. Over 1,000 visitors attended this peace program at Palolo Hongwanji. More than 700 students from middle, high schools, and colleges participated in a 2-hour long educational program. We have received their reflections saying that nuclear weapons are so dangerous that we should never use them in the future.
